Social Media Flowchart [Infographic]

It goes without saying that a viable social media strategy is a quintessential element of any marketing strategy these days. There is a reason major Fortune 500 companies are now placing their Twitter and Facebook pages at the end of their television and print advertisements as opposed to a link to a static webpage.

The ability to directly communicate with customers and clients, both prospective and current is a magnificent tool that has revolutionized relationships between businesses and individuals. So it makes sense for these massive firms to become more personal on the web, as people have been itching for these types of channels to communicate with companies.

However – not everyone has multi-million dollar marketing budgets, can afford to create a team of social media gurus and run a/b testing all day on various ways to handle specific social outlets. I had a great discussion the other day with a friend who described his situation as “just too busy” to monitor Twitter all day or respond to every Facebook comment. Given that his business is essentially him and some contracted employees, social media is a realm entirely foreign. And with all the resources now available it had quickly become almost too much as he didn’t know where to start anymore.

The folks over at Simply Business have created this amazingly easy to understand and follow flowchart of all things Social Media – From the very early stages of what accounts to set up as well as how to maintain and monitor them from start to finish, each point highlighted on this chart links to an article that describes in-depth each topic. You can quickly bolster up on areas you are most interested in focusing on by simply clicking on the respective link.
